DM's Music Pages

These are some web pages about my music. I am known to most people as DM because my initials are D.M.
I bought my first guitar in 1973 and never looked back, as they say. I've bought several guitars since then.

I started writing songs in a band about 1980, then more in a band about 1988. I've written some since.

Apart from one session in a real recording studio with tape in 1981 I'd only recorded myself using multiple cassette tape machines, bouncing each layer from one machine to another.
A friend of mine has been into serious levels of home recording for several years and in 2017 he recorded a track for me of a song I'd written. In 2019 I acquired some of his "hand me down" DAW software and have started to lay down various of my back catalogue.

The lyrics and chords/tabs are on this site itself. I'm hosting the audio on SoundCloud because that seems the easiest place. Most of them are 4/4 120BPM rock beat.

D.M. and the SuperYob

Of all the guitars I've had and have, Gibson, Fender, Yamaha, PRS, the only challenger to my 1970s John Birch J1 is my 2009 John Birch SuperYob2.

The original may have been designed as a joke but the SY2 is a quality luthier made instrument. It plays beautifully and "sounds loud" I am told.

And yes, I known by experience that it means you can see to play in the dark whatever the stage lighting does...
