Verse 1 I met a girl with eyes as bright as Meissen G Am C She'd drunk a lot, but would prob'ly drink some more G C Am T'was in a club, not too far from the East Coast G Am C Red drinks, Red eyes, Red carpets on the floor G C Am Chorus This is a song about Maison Rouge, D Am G C It's all about the dark and the heat, yeah! D Am G C D This is a story from an old North town D Am G C A tale of passion and of lovin' so sweet, yeah! D Am G C D Verse 2 I walked her home, kissed her, said she was a treasure She said come up, come in and be a fool She sized me up, didn't use a tape measure (I've changed the words, from what once I thought were cool) Verse 3 We lay that night, whispering sweet nothings Rollin' an tumblin' , giggling, takin' turns Said she was glad she had picked me up that dark night We'll have to see if it's the Joker who returns... Verse 3 We made sweet love and had a reet gud grind, too But I got tired, and didn't want no more 'Said I would scream if we did continue "I'm not from Asgard but I'm definitely Thor"
Perhaps the early words were cool?
I changed them from "almost twelve inches but I don't use it as a rule"
The original chorus ended "a tale of passion and of three shredded wheat, yeah".
There was also a verse containing "so she give me 'ead butt, just like in '44" that I have no idea of the meaning, but enjoyed the alliteration!
